Membership: We are a Non-Profit, Non-Denominational Organization yet spiritually led. The group is open to heart transplant recipients, their caregivers, family members, anyone awaiting a heart transplant, any organ donor family. Change of Heart is inspired and awe stricken by the unselfish act of organ donors and their families. We can only respond to their gift as a "Miracle of Life, a Second Chance." It is our given responsibility to take care of that organ after transplant.

Mission:

• To support each other morally, emotionally, financially yet with confidentiality.
• Provide education updates and latest treatments for heart failure and transplant patients.
• To help those who are waiting for transplant and their families and caregivers
• To publicize, promote and educate the public about organ donation and transplantation.

Organization: The Change of Heart Support Group was started in 1986 under the direction of Dr. David Melvin, MD, with the help of medical secretary Shirley Pemberton and Social Worker Kathy Gosney. Elections are held every two years to select a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Trustees. A Newsletter Editor and Social Director are also appointed. Meetings: Monthly meetings are held the first Thursday in March, April, May, September, October and November at the Carthage Senior Citizen Center, located at 19 East 72nd Street in Carthage, Ohio. For more info view our Events page.

Annual Picnic: Held the third Sunday in July at the FOP Lodge, located at Joyce Park in Fairfield, Ohio. Cost is free, but donations are accepted. Time 1-5 p.m.

Annual Christmas Party: First Saturday in December at the Sharonville Convention Center, located at 11355 Chester Road in Sharonville, Ohio.
